Hercules Monument

In the German town of Kassel there is a monument to Hercules which was built in the early 1700s. It has just recently been declared a world heritage site. Until today I'd never heard of it; I don't think it's well-known here in Australia.

  2. Very picturesque.

I know you like posting images of these grand old buildings...

What do you make of this one?

  3. Anon, again it's not a place that's well known here in Australia. I'd love to visit it one day, particularly as I have some Scottish ancestry.

  4. The sad thing is that many Scottish people would not even care about places like that, because to them life is whatever a council estate or a high rise block of flats has to offer.
